Private Advertiser is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeping & Data Entry Assistant to support UK-based accounting operations. You will encode receipts, invoices, and expenses into Excel and cloud-based accounting software, while keeping digital records tidy and performing basic reconciliations.

This remote, part-time independent contractor role requires strong English communication, fast learning, and the ability to work autonomously to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience in basic bookkeeping, accounting support, or data entry.
• Working knowledge of accounting platforms: Sage, Xero, FreeAgent, or QuickBooks.
• Strong Excel skills including sorting, filtering, and basic formulas.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good written English communication and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Encode receipts, invoices, bills, and expenses into Excel and accounting software.
• Maintain accurate and organised digital financial records.
• Reconcile transactions against bank statements and payment platforms.
• Prepare basic financial schedules, such as expense summaries and supplier listings.
• Identify missing documents, discrepancies, and unusual transactions.
