Job summary

8x8 International Philippines Branch Office is seeking a NOC Engineer to monitor and maintain the health of our network and systems in a fully remote setup based in the Philippines. You will manage incidents, perform routine maintenance, and utilize AI tools for triage, log correlation, and runbook lookups while ensuring high availability of services for US evening-to-night coverage.

The role requires a solid foundation in networking, VoIP, and Linux, plus 24x7x365 experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years related experience.
• Knowledge of NOC fundamentals: networks, monitoring, incident lifecycle, and escalation hygiene.
• Strong networking and voice protocol knowledge (TCP/IP, SIP, RTP, DNS, SNMP).
• Experience with a VoIP platform and familiarity with the SIP protocol.
• Mixed networking and sysadmin experience with exposure to infrastructure and application monitoring/alerting tools.
• Proven experience in a Linux-based environment.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good documentation and process background.
• Experience working in a 24x7x365 environment.
• Familiarity with AI assistants and comfort incorporating them into daily work.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system and network health to ensure continuous availability of services.
• Perform routine system maintenance on a scheduled basis.
• Analyze alarms and troubleshoot, escalating as needed.
• Record trouble tickets and assign based on urgency.
• Manage incidents and maintain SOPs.
• Coordinate with carriers and account teams.
• Provide 3rd-line support for escalated issues.
• Troubleshoot call quality, origination, and termination issues.
• Track bugs and gather technical information for other teams.
• Execute changes to infrastructure with approvals and guidance.
• Use AI tools for triage, log analysis, and runbook lookups.
• Keep runbooks and knowledge base current; ensure documentation accuracy for AI reliance.
• Validate AI-generated conclusions against raw evidence before sharing.
