Job summary

KIRA is seeking a Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of complex products and systems. This hands-on leadership role involves designing systems, coding, code reviews, and driving major initiatives from concept to production.

You will alternate between architecture and implementation, guide other engineers, and ensure high code quality, security and production reliability across teams.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with production systems experience.
• Deep expertise in backend, frontend, APIs, databases or cloud infrastructure.
• Proven system design and architecture skills for complex/high-scale systems.
• Willingness to stay hands-on and write/review code.
• Proven leadership on major engineering projects or technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and execution of major products, features and initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases and infrastructure.
• Stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging and production problem-solving.
• Make architecture decisions balancing speed, scalability, reliability and maintainability.
• Mentor engineers and strengthen technical capability across the team.
• Work with product, design and AI teams to ship high-quality products quickly.
• Improve tooling and automation to increase team velocity.
• Own systems beyond release: monitor, investigate incidents and improve reliability.
