Job summary

BJAK is seeking a Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of complex products and systems, driving major initiatives from idea to production in a remote, globally distributed team. You will design systems, write and review code, and guide other engineers while balancing architecture and implementation.

You should be comfortable making strong technical decisions and mentoring others, staying close to code to execute when needed, and collaborating with product, design and AI teams to ship

Qualifications

• Proven experience building and shipping production systems.
• Strong system design and architecture skills.
• Able to lead major engineering projects or drive technical initiatives.
• Willingness to stay hands-on and write/review code.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and execution of major products, features and engineering initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases and infrastructure.
• Stay hands-on with coding, prototyping, code reviews, debugging and production problem-solving.
• Mentor engineers and help strengthen technical capability across the team.
• Own systems beyond release — monitor production, investigate incidents and improve reliability.
