Job summary

BJAK is seeking a Lead Engineer to take technical ownership of complex products and systems, guiding architecture and coding across backend, frontend, APIs and databases. This remote, globally distributed role requires hands-on leadership, mentoring, and the ability to ship high-quality software while balancing speed, reliability and maintainability.

You will design scalable systems, review designs and code, and work with cross-functional teams to drive major initiatives from idea to production.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with production systems experience.
• Deep expertise in backend, frontend, APIs, databases or cloud infrastructure.
• Strong system design and architecture skills.
• Willingness to remain hands-on and code when needed.
• Proven leadership on major engineering projects or teams.
• Ability to explain complex decisions clearly and influence across teams.
• Strong product sense aligned with customer outcomes.
• Able to work quickly with ambiguity and own problems end-to-end.
• Experience reviewing code and debugging production systems.
