Job summary

GrayMatter Networks is seeking a Jr. Systems Administrator / Voice Engineer to support, monitor, and troubleshoot hospitality VoIP and infrastructure systems across customer environments.

You will focus on VoIP, SIP, Linux, networking, and FreePBX-based systems while assisting internal teams and customers with escalations and deployments. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced remote support environment, communicating clearly with hotel IT staff and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Strong English communication skills—written and verbal.
• Experience with VoIP, SIP, or PBX technologies.
• Understanding of SIP, telephony systems including PBXs, call routing.
• Experience troubleshooting with Wireshark and VoIP Monitor.
• Strong Linux skills and CLI proficiency.
• Familiarity with FreePBX environments.
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, NAT).
• Knowledge of OSI model and network troubleshooting.
• Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently in a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and support VoIP and PBX systems in hospitality environments.
• Deploy, provision, and maintain customer systems.
• Monitor voice services, infrastructure alarms, health, and network performance.
• Troubleshoot SIP, VoIP, networking issues; escalate as needed.
• Document deployments and procedures; maintain knowledge base.
