Job summary

Assist World is seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeper to manage client accounts remotely, starting with approximately 10 hours per month and expanding to about 10 client accounts with a pathway to full-time employment.

The role emphasizes accurate, audit-ready records, GAAP compliance, and timely month-end closes, with collaboration alongside our CFO-for-Hire team and clear communication with clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years accounting/bookkeeping experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Proven experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Solid understanding and practical experience with accrual accounting.
• Previous bookkeeping experience for multiple businesses or clients.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work during Eastern Standard / Eastern Time (EST/ET) business hours.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
• Reliable internet connection and a professional remote work environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for assigned client accounts.
• Record and reconcile financial transactions using QuickBooks.
• Perform month-end close procedures.
• Prepare and maintain audit-ready financial files and supporting documentation each month.
• Ensure financial records comply with GAAP.
• Manage accrual-based accounting and journal entries.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts.
• Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues promptly.
• Work closely with the Business CFO for Hire team to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
• Provide clear and professional communication with internal teams and clients when required.
