Join Emapta as an AU Business Lending Underwriter / Credit Analyst to assess SME financing opportunities through cash flow analysis and responsible lending. Work from home with Australian business hours, collaborating with international teams and advancing your career in a remote-first environment.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in Australian SME underwriting, strong Excel skills, and proficiency with bank statement analysis.

Competenze

• 3 to 5 years of direct experience in underwriting Australian SME or commercial loans
• Experience with an Australian non-bank lender, fintech lender, commercial finance provider, or business lending company
• Strong understanding of Australian business bank statements, cash-flow-based lending, debt servicing, loan affordability, and commercial credit risk
• Experience assessing unsecured business loans, short-term working capital facilities, or merchant cash advances
• Ability to identify existing lender repayments, loan stacking, dishonours, irregular income, and signs of financial distress
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong numerical accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to prepare clear, professional, and evidence-based credit assessments and recommendations
• Ability to work independently, challenge assumptions, and exercise sound commercial credit judgment
• Willingness to use AI-assisted underwriting tools while independently verifying their findings
• Availability to work Australian business hours

Mansioni

• Review and assess Australian SME finance applications including new loans, renewals, refinances, and second-position loans
• Analyze business bank statements and review other financial information
• Verify genuine revenue by distinguishing receipts from transfers and non-trading credits
• Evaluate cash flow, account balances, negative-balance days, dishonours, repayment history and financial stability
• Identify existing loans, merchant cash advances, and other financial commitments
• Assess debt servicing capacity and affordability of additional loan repayments
• Investigate unusual bank activity, undisclosed loans, loan stacking, defaults, and risk indicators
• Review credit reports, financial statements and documentation
• Evaluate risks across construction, hospitality, transport, retail and services sectors
• Recommend loan amounts, repayment terms and structures based on verified performance
• Prepare clear credit assessments and risk recommendations for management
• Collaborate with brokers and teams to gather missing information and resolve inquiries
• Review AI-assisted reports, verify calculations and findings for accuracy
• Maintain records of decisions and underwriting rationale
• Contribute to process improvements in underwriting controls
