Job summary

Remote Employee BPO is seeking an experienced Australian Bookkeeper to manage end-to-end bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients and take ownership of the full function—from BAS/IAS to payroll—working from a remote setup in the Philippines.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Australian bookkeeping experience, strong Xero and MYOB skills, and comfort communicating with clients. This contractual role offers competitive compensation and potential for extension.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally multi-client
• Certificate III or IV in Bookkeeping is required
• Strong payroll expertise including awards and payroll compliance
• Advanced proficiency in Xero and MYOB accounting software
• Experience with apps/add-ons to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end bookkeeping for a diverse client portfolio
• Process full AP/AR with workflows and controls
• Payroll administration including onboarding, awards, superannuation, tax, and STP
• Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS per ATO requirements
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and review P&L for data integrity
• Identify risks and resolve issues or escalate as needed
• Prepare and present management reports and insights for clients
• Act as primary bookkeeping contact and respond to client queries
• Collaborate with team to meet deadlines and maintain service levels
• Identify process improvements and optimize tech/tools
• Attend client meetings or offices for onboarding/reviews/project work
