Job summary

Hunt St Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Accountant to join a growing Australian accounting and advisory firm supporting a diverse portfolio of clients. This is a remote, independent contractor engagement with responsibilities spanning bookkeeping, payroll, and financial reporting.

The role requires CPA qualification or active pursuit, 3+ years of experience with Australian clients, and strong Xero and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• CPA qualification or actively pursuing CPA is preferred but not essential.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting Australian accounting clients.
• Strong hands-on experience with Xero.
• Solid understanding of bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end reporting processes.
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial reporting and spreadsheet modelling.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage client bill payments and accounts administration.
• Process payroll accurately and on time.
• Perform Xero reconciliations across multiple client accounts.
• Assist with month-end reporting and management accounting.
• Support procurement and supply chain processes for clients.
• Assist with financial modelling in Excel and management reports.
• Support bookkeeping, BAS preparation, and general accounting functions.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure reporting compliance.
• Collaborate with team to meet deadlines and deliverables.
