Job summary

Hunt St Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced accountant based in the Philippines to join a boutique client’s bookkeeping team on a 100% remote independent contractor basis. You will collaborate with Australian clients and their bookkeepers to produce financial reports and tax returns.

The role requires CPA qualification (or equivalent), strong knowledge of Australian tax law, and proficiency with Xero; you will work autonomously with flexible hours, overlapping Australian business hours.

Qualifications

• CPA qualification or equivalent with knowledge of Australian tax law.
• Strong written English and communication skills.
• 2–3 years of experience in Australian tax compliance and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare business financial reports and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders.
• Review individual tax returns for accuracy and compliance.
• Liaise with bookkeepers to review BAS-prepared financials before proceeding to tax compliance.
• Ensure all work meets Australian tax law and ATO requirements.
• Flag discrepancies or issues with the director in a timely manner.
