Job summary

Yempo is seeking an experienced Accounting Team Lead to join our Manila-based team. This day-shift role offers the flexibility to work from home or from an office, coordinating a remote accounting function for our Sydney-based client.

You will oversee bookkeeping, tax compliance, and financial reporting, manage a small offshore team, and ensure timely, accurate service. Strong Australian accounting knowledge and PLC communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years Australian bookkeeping, business services, and tax experience in an accounting firm.
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles and tax compliance.
• CPA qualified (or substantially progressed).
• Experience with Xero, XPM, and Karbon practice management.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily workflow and job management, including tax returns, bookkeeping, BAS, and client queries.
• Oversee preparation, review and delivery of client accounting and tax work.
• Monitor progress, ensure timely delivery, and escalate issues as needed.
• Lead and support 1–2 offshore accountant team members with guidance.
• Onboard new clients and maintain professional client communications.
