Job summary

Eightx seeks an Accounting Services Director to lead a growing team of accountants and bookkeepers. You will own the accounting processes end-to-end, write SOPs, and uphold high-quality close for multiple clients across global ecommerce brands.

You will partner with fractional CFOs, mentor staff, and drive process improvements, including automation. This is a fully remote role with overlap with North American hours.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in accounting, including 3+ years leading a team
• Multi-client experience: public practice, outsourced accounting, or controller across several entities
• Deep technical accounting: accrual-basis, leases, equity transactions, deferred revenue, FX revaluation
• Strong Xero and QuickBooks Online skills
• Ecommerce accounting experience: Shopify, Amazon Seller or Vendor Central, multi-currency
• Proven ability to build processes and SOPs that others follow
• Fluent business English, written and spoken; comfortable on camera with clients
• Ability to coach and mentor; lead teams across time zones

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the accounting team; hire and grow staff
• Own month-end close across all clients within 2–10 business days
• Set standards for balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy
• Manage client communications; explain issues clearly
• Coordinate year-end with tax accountants and CPA firms
• Write and maintain SOPs, checklists, and close calendar
• Identify automation opportunities and work with AI team
• Handle complex issues: leases, equity transactions, intercompany, multi-entity
• Oversee multi-currency accounting, FX revaluation, and reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with tax nexus rules (US/UK/EU)
