Job summary

Remote Employee PH is hiring an Accounting Associate to support day-to-day accounting for a U.S.-based client. The role involves AP/AR, billing, reconciliations, payroll entries, and month-end close in a remote, team-based environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 1–3 years of relevant experience, strong Excel skills, and experience with project accounting and time-and-billing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience supporting U.S.-based companies preferred.
• Working knowledge of accrual accounting and month-end close.
• Hands-on experience with AP, AR, billing, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Exposure to project accounting, job costing, time-and-billing, or professional services accounting preferred.
• Experience with accounting/project management systems; BigTime is desirable.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely accounting records according to policies.
• Record and classify financial transactions and maintain documentation.
• Process accounts payable and maintain vendor records.
• Support client billing, including client invoices.
• Maintain accounts receivable records and AR aging schedules.
• Support collections, tracking invoices and escalation of delinquent accounts.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Support payroll accounting and related entries.
• Assist with month-end close, including reconciliations and journals.
• Assist with monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Review time submissions for client billing accuracy.
• Assist with setting up projects, tasks, budgets, and billing categories.
• Monitor project activity against budgets and identify unbilled time.
• Maintain project/client information in systems and ensure status accuracy.
• Identify accounting discrepancies and assist timely resolution.
• Follow established processes, controls, close calendars, and client service standards.
• Communicate proactively with Senior Accountant about outstanding items.
