Gemaire Distributors is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Compliance Auditor for an eight-week, remote project. You will audit resale/exemption certificates, verify exemption status, and communicate certificate deficiencies to customers.

The role supports the Account Services Manager and uses Avalara CertCapture. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently within established templates and escalation procedures.

Qualificações

• Detail-oriented auditor with focus on tax compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for customer interactions.
• Strong organizational skills to manage many accounts within a set timeframe.
• Ability to work independently using established templates and escalation procedures.
• Familiarity with Avalara certificate management systems.

Responsabilidades

• Retrieve resale/exemption certificates and verify state-specific requirements.
• Validate taxpayer IDs and exemption status using state websites.
• Identify invalid, expired, or incomplete certificates and document findings.
• Notify customers of deficiencies and changes to taxable status using templates.
• Update ERP with notes on certificate status, lookups, and communications.
• Escalate complex issues to the Account Services Manager.
• Maintain confidentiality of tax records and ensure accuracy.
