Qualifications

• Experience with US Sales and Use Tax is required.
• Public accounting audit experience.
• Financial statement preparation and review.
• Balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ability to research and apply accounting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve monthly/quarterly state and local sales and use tax returns and tax payments.
• Ensure accurate setup of Avalara, including state and local jurisdictions.
• Prepare annual tangible personal property tax returns and other required filings.
• Conduct tax research on evolving laws and regulations.
• Research technical accounting issues.
• Review AP & AR invoices for applicable sales and use tax; validate exemption certificates.
• Maintain organized tax records; manage payment confirmations.
• Reconcile G/L accounts to maintain accurate tax records.
• Manage audits at federal/state/local levels and respond to notices.
• Provide documentation for outside tax consultants for returns.
• Collaborate with outside tax consultants on R&D tax credits.
• Assist in year-end financial audit and preparation of financial reports.
