The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of tax experience, a public accounting background, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with Avalara, NetSuite, and ConnectWise.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of tax experience in multi-state environments.
• Experience with annual financial audit reports.
• Public accounting background required.
• Proficiency in Excel and tax software (Avalara, NetSuite, ConnectWise).

Responsibilities

• Review and approve monthly/quarterly state and local sales and use tax returns and payments.
• Ensure proper setup of Avalara for state/local jurisdictions.
• Prepare annual business tangible personal property tax returns and other duties as required.
• Conduct tax research on evolving laws and regulations.
• Research technical accounting issues affecting financial results.
• Review A/P & A/R invoices for applicable sales and use tax and validate exemption certificates.
• Maintain organized tax records, correspondence, and payment confirmations.
• Reconcile G/L accounts to maintain accurate tax records.
• Manage federal, state, local, and property tax audits and respond to notices and assessments.
• Provide documentation for outside tax consultants for federal, state, and local income tax return prep.
• Collaborate with outside tax consultants on R&D tax credits.
• Assist in year-end financial audit and preparation of financial reports.
