Job Summary

Access Care Health is seeking a qualified Optician to join our Clinical Operations team in Mandaue City, Cebu. This is a full-time, fully corporate and non-patient-facing position supporting our U.S. healthcare operations.

Unlike a traditional optical position, this role does not involve direct patient or client care. The Optician will work in a desk-based corporate environment and apply their optical knowledge to clinical quality, prescription and documentation review, compliance, optical equipment and supplies, healthcare systems, workflow development, and training.

The successful candidate will collaborate and cross-train with our U.S.-based optician and vision experts to develop familiarity with U.S. optical operations, applicable requirements, standards, and company processes.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Operations & Quality Assurance

• Serve as an optical subject matter resource for the Clinical Operations and Operations teams.
• Review vision and optical workflows from a clinical and operational perspective.
• Support quality assurance activities related to vision services.
• Identify inconsistencies, potential errors, or areas requiring further review.
• Coordinate identified concerns with Operations and appropriate U.S.-based vision professionals.

Prescription & Documentation Review

• Review optical prescriptions and related documentation for completeness, consistency, and required information.
• Identify missing, unclear, or potentially inconsistent information and flag it for appropriate follow-up.
• Develop familiarity with prescription terminology, parameters, and documentation requirements used within U.S. vision operations.
• Assist Operations in understanding optical prescriptions and related documentation.
• Escalate matters requiring professional interpretation or authorization to the appropriate U.S.-licensed or authorized personnel.

U.S. Vision Regulations & Compliance

• Develop familiarity with U.S. requirements and standards relevant to the company's vision and optical operations.
• Cross-train with U.S.-based optician and vision experts to understand differences between Philippine and U.S. optical practices and requirements.
• Help translate relevant requirements into internal procedures, checklists, and operational guidance.
• Identify potential compliance concerns and escalated them to the appropriate authorized personnel.

Optical Equipment, Eyewear & Supplies

• Provide optical knowledge regarding frames, lenses, measurements, optical equipment, accessories, and supplies.
• Assist Operations with identifying appropriate equipment and supply requirements.
• Support follow-up on equipment, eyewear, and supply-related concerns.
• Help ensure established procedures for the handling, maintenance, storage, and use of optical equipment and materials are followed.
• Assist in identifying potential issues involving frames, lenses, measurements, or other optical requirements.

Clinical Safety & Proper Procedures

• Support established clinical safety and operational protocols relevant to vision services.
• Help monitor appropriate use of PPE and established hygiene, cleaning, and equipment-handling procedures where applicable.
• Identify potential safety or procedural concerns and coordinate follow-up with the appropriate Operations or U.S. clinical personnel.

Healthcare Software & Systems

• Receive training on the healthcare and vision systems used by Access Care Health.
• Develop familiarity with vision documentation and operational workflows within company systems.
• Review information entered into relevant systems for completeness and consistency.
• Assist Operations with understanding optical information and workflows within these platforms.
• Identify system or workflow issues requiring follow-up.

Training & Process Improvement

• Cross-train with U.S.-based optician and vision experts to develop knowledge of U.S. vision operations.
• Assist in training Operations and onsite personnel on relevant optical workflows, prescriptions, equipment, documentation, and procedures.
• Help develop training materials and optical reference guides.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to processes and workflows.
• Serve as a resource for Operations team members who require clarification on optical processes or terminology.

Qualifications

• Relevant education, training, certification, or professional experience in Opticianry, Optical Dispensing, Vision Care, or a related field.
• Previous experience in an optical clinic, eyewear practice, vision center, or related setting is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates with relevant educational or clinical training are welcome to apply.
• Previous corporate or U.S. healthcare experience is not required.
• Knowledge of optical terminology, prescriptions, frames, lenses, measurements, equipment, and standard optical workflows.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when reviewing prescriptions and documentation.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Comfortable using computers and learning healthcare and vision software.
• Willing to learn U.S. vision operations, applicable requirements, and healthcare systems.
• Comfortable working in a fully corporate and non-client-facing environment.
• Must be willing to work onsite in Mandaue City, Cebu.
• Must be willing to work a night-shift schedule aligned with U.S. operating hours.

Position Scope

This position provides optical expertise and support to Access Care Health's corporate Clinical Operations team. It is a non-client-facing role and does not involve providing direct vision care or independently prescribing, modifying, or authorizing prescriptions.
