Job summary

Star Eye Specs Corp in the Philippines seeks a licensed Optometrist to join its growing optical retail team. You will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and prescribe corrective eyewear while delivering excellent patient care in a retail store setting.

This role supports upcoming store openings; flexibility with assignments and availability for the first 100 days after launch is required.

Qualifications

• Valid PRC License in Optometry must be current.
• Bachelor's degree in Optometry or equivalent qualification required.
• Minimum 3–5 years of related optometry experience preferred.
• Experience in optical retail or clinical practice is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and diagnose ocular conditions.

Job description:

Star Eye Specs Corporation is looking for a skilled, compassionate, and patient-focused Full-Time Optometrist to join our growing optical retail team. As part of our retail stores, you’ll play an essential role in providing quality eye care, conducting comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing and managing visual and ocular conditions, prescribing corrective eyewear, and delivering an excellent patient experience. This role is ideal for a Licensed Optometrist with strong clinical skills, professional integrity, and a passion for helping patients achieve optimal vision.

This position is part of our advance hiring for upcoming retail stores. The specific store location and opening date will be communicated once finalized. Successful candidates must be flexible with store assignment and available to support the assigned store during its first 100 days of operations following the official store opening.

Key Responsibilities:

Eye Examination & Clinical Care:

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations using appropriate diagnostic equipment.

• Assess, diagnose, and manage refractive errors and common ocular conditions within the scope of practice.

• Prescribe corrective lenses, including eyeglasses and contact lenses, based on patients' individual needs.

• Provide appropriate pre- and post-operative care, when applicable.

• Maintain high standards of clinical practice, patient safety, and professional care.

Patient Care & Education:

• Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, proper eye care practices, and appropriate eyewear options.

• Provide personalized recommendations based on patients' visual needs and lifestyle.

• Address patient concerns with professionalism, compassion, and excellent customer service.

• Build positive and lasting relationships with patients.

Retail & Store Operations:

• Collaborate closely with opticians, technicians, and store personnel to ensure accurate lens fitting and excellent patient care.

• Support the successful opening and initial operations of newly established retail stores.

• Help establish and maintain efficient clinical and patient-care processes within the assigned store.

• Contribute to a professional, organized, and customer-focused store environment.

• Support store initiatives and perform other optometry-related duties as assigned.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, prescriptions, and clinical documentation.

• Ensure compliance with applicable professional standards, regulations, and company policies.

• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling patient information.

Qualifications:

Education & Professional Requirements:

• Valid PRC License in Optometry – Required

• Bachelor's degree in Optometry or equivalent qualification – Required

• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in Optometry of relevant professional experience in Optometry.

• Experience in optical retail, clinical practice, or a similar eye care setting is preferred.

Clinical Skills & Professional Competence:

• Strong clinical and practical optometry skills.

• Ability to independently conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assess visual and ocular conditions.

• Demonstrated ability to prescribe appropriate corrective eyewear based on patients' needs.

• Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.

• Must demonstrate professional competence, reliability, and a commitment to quality patient care.

• Must have a good professional standing and employment record, demonstrating professionalism, ethical conduct, and reliability.

Communication & Customer Service:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong patient-handling and customer service skills.

• Ability to explain eye health conditions and recommendations clearly to patients.

• Compassionate, professional, and patient-focused approach.

Work & Store Requirements:

• Team-oriented, adaptable, responsible, and detail-oriented.

• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with opticians, technicians, and other team members.

• Willing to be assigned to an upcoming or newly opened retail store.

• Must be available and willing to commit to the assigned store during the first 100 days following its official opening.

• Willing to work according to the schedule and operational requirements of the assigned store.

• Willing to actively support the opening and initial operations of the assigned retail store.

• New graduates and newly Licensed Optometrists may also be considered if they demonstrate strong clinical skills, professionalism, and the ability to meet the requirements of the position. Training and mentoring may be provided.
