Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an Area Head – Cold Chain Operations to oversee end-to-end cold chain activities including warehousing, transportation and distribution. The role ensures temperature compliance, KPI achievement and product quality across assigned areas.

You will lead Operations Officers and teams handling cold storage, inventory, and warehouse operations while driving efficiencies and cost savings. Strong leadership and logistics experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field.
• At least 5 years of related experience in cold chain, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or supply chain operations.
• Preferably with 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Strong background in cold chain operations, logistics, warehousing, and manufacturing operations.
• Knowledgeable in SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cold chain operations including storage, warehousing, transportation and dispatch.
• Maintain temperature compliance and product handling standards.
• Develop strategies to improve productivity, turnaround time and service delivery.
• Monitor KPIs and ensure compliance with SLAs and targets.
• Lead Operations Officers and supervise teams across warehousing, inventory and dispatch.
• Ensure FEFO/FIFO inventory management and minimize shrinkage and damages.
• Coordinate with 3PLs and trucking providers for inbound/outbound logistics.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Utilize SAP and Excel for reporting and analysis; prepare operational reports.

Job Summary

The Area Head – Cold Chain Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing end-to-end cold chain operations across assigned areas, including warehousing, transportation, logistics, and distribution operations. The role ensures operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, temperature compliance, service reliability, and achievement of operational KPIs while maintaining product quality and safety standards throughout the cold chain process.

Area Head leads and supervises Operations Officers and operational teams handling cold storage, transport, dispatch, inventory, and warehouse operations. The position requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and experience in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, and cold chain operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Cold Chain Operations Management

• Oversee and manage overall cold chain operations including cold storage, warehousing, transportation, dispatch, and logistics activities.

• Ensure operational efficiency while maintaining required temperature and product handling standards.

• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity, turnaround time, and service delivery.

• Monitor operational KPIs and ensure compliance with service level agreements and operational targets.

• Identify operational gaps and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

• Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, dispatching, and inventory control.

• Ensure proper warehouse layout and storage utilization for frozen, chilled, and dry products.

• Monitor inventory accuracy and oversee cycle counts and reconciliation processes.

• Ensure proper implementation of FEFO/FIFO inventory management systems.

• Minimize inventory shrinkage, damages, and product losses.

• Ensure accurate monitoring of spare parts, fuel consumption, and operational supplies.

Transport & Logistics Operations

• Oversee truck allocation, dispatch scheduling, and route planning to ensure on-time deliveries.

• Monitor refrigerated vehicle operations and ensure temperature-controlled transport compliance.

• Maintain strong coordination with third-party logistics and trucking providers.

• Ensure smooth inbound and outbound logistics operations.

• Monitor fleet utilization, transport efficiency, and operational costs.

• Coordinate maintenance concerns for refrigerated trucks, warehouse equipment, and operational facilities.

Compliance & Quality Management

• Ensure compliance with food safety standards, cold chain handling procedures, and company policies.

• Monitor adherence to temperature requirements and operational quality standards.

• Ensure compliance with government regulatory requirements and operational permits.

• Enforce safety, environmental, and operational protocols within all facilities.

• Ensure accurate documentation and monitoring of operational and compliance reports.

Administrative & Reporting Functions

• Ensure accuracy and timely submission of operational reports and documentation.

• Monitor daily operational performance, inventory movement, delivery status, and productivity reports.

• Review and approve operational requests, billings, and related documents.

• Utilize SAP and Microsoft Excel for reporting, operational analysis, and monitoring.

• Analyze operational data and recommend process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.

Leadership & People Management

• Lead, supervise, and develop Operations Officers and operational personnel.

• Conduct coaching, performance evaluations, and performance management activities.

• Ensure proper manpower allocation and workforce productivity.

• Promote teamwork, accountability, discipline, and operational excellence.

• Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and customer service.

Job Qualifications & Specifications

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field.

Years of Related Experience

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in cold chain, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, or supply chain operations.
