Job Description
The Logistics Officer is responsible for overseeing the efficient transport, storage, and distribution of frozen meat products while ensuring strict compliance with cold chain requirements. The role ensures timely deliveries, proper handling of temperature-sensitive goods, and coordination with suppliers, drivers, and warehouse personnel to maintain product quality and operational efficiency.
Logistics Coordination
- Plan, schedule, and monitor delivery routes for frozen meat products.
- Coordinate with drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse staff for daily operations.
- Ensure timely delivery to clients while minimizing delays and costs.
Cold Chain Management
- Ensure all products are stored and transported at required temperatures.
- Monitor reefer trucks, cold storage units, and temperature logs.
- Address and report any temperature deviations or product risks immediately.
Inventory & Warehouse Coordination
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel on stock availability and movement.
- Ensure proper loading/unloading procedures to avoid spoilage or contamination.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist in stock audits.
Fleet Management
- Monitor condition and maintenance schedule of delivery vehicles.
- Ensure all trucks are compliant with safety and sanitation standards.
- Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance as needed.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and review delivery documents, trip reports, and invoices.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain records of deliveries, temperature logs, and incidents.
- Handle delivery issues such as delays, breakdowns, or rejected goods.
- Coordinate with clients and internal teams to resolve concerns promptly.
- Submit incident reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor fuel usage, delivery costs, and route efficiency.
- Suggest improvements to optimize logistics operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 1–3 years of experience in logistics, preferably in food or cold chain operations.
- Knowledge of cold storage and frozen goods handling is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and logistics tracking systems.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
