Job summary

WESTERN SHIPPING SOUTHEAST ASIA INC is seeking a recruiter in the Philippines to source and select competent seafarers. The role involves screening applicant documents per standard, developing recruiting plans, and networking with industry contacts through associations and online channels.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of maritime recruitment experience, familiarity with crew documents (visa, flag, STCW), and strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare document receiving checklist for new hires.
• Perform tasks as assigned.

Job description

• Source and select competent, suitable and qualified crew.
• Conducts initial screening of applicant’s documents per entry standard, including online applications for the vacant positions basis the 30, 60, & 90 days planner.
• Shall be responsible for developing and executing recruiting plans, networking through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups & online channels such as social media and professional networks.
• Shall be responsible for the background checking of applicants.
• Shall be responsible for the preparation of document receiving checklist for the new hires.
• Perform task that maybe assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

• Must be a graduate of bachelor’s degree in any related course.
• Must have at least 2 years of experience in maritime recruitment and with wide network of potential seafarers.
• Familiarity to different maritime documents: crew positions, visa, flag, stcw.
• With good communications and negotiation skills
