Job summary

HOPE in the Philippines (Makati) is seeking a Reconciliation Specialist to strengthen the Finance team. You will ensure accuracy of accounting records, perform daily/weekly/monthly reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies across systems.

The role focuses on BAU activities and historical data cleanup, requiring attention to detail and strong data skills. The ideal candidate has a finance background, at least 6 months of related experience, and proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• At least 6 months of relevant finance experience.
• Comfortable with large volumes of transactional data.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets; lookups and pivots preferred.
• Experience with Netsuite or ERP is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of accounting records and transactions.
• Match payments, invoices, and receipts across systems to ensure accuracy and completeness for revenues and expenses.
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve discrepancies or variances in accounting records.
• Support ongoing BAU reconciliation activities.
• Conduct cleanup reconciliation of historical / previous transactions, identifying gaps and proposing corrections.
• Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., Finance, O2C, Sales) to clarify and resolve recon issues.
• Prepare basic reconciliation reports and summaries for review.
• Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for reconciled accounts.
• Assist in improving reconciliation processes and controls where needed.
• Assist in other accounting team related activities and other adhoc tasks

About the Role:

The Reconciliation Specialist supports the Finance team by ensuring the accuracy of accounting records and transactions. This role focuses on day-to-day reconciliation activities, as well as the review and cleanup of historical transactions. The ideal candidate has a finance background, is detail-oriented, and is comfortable investigating discrepancies and working through transactional data.
