Job summary

HOPE is seeking a detail-oriented Tax Supervisor to oversee corporate tax governance and regulatory compliance across its social programs. You will manage end-to-end tax processes, the preparation and filing of returns, and ensure compliance with Philippine tax laws.

The role combines hands-on tax management with advisory support, coordinating with finance teams and external advisors to navigate BIR audits and complex tax scenarios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy (BSA) or related Finance discipline.
• CPA credential preferred.
• Experience overseeing corporate tax compliance cycles and handling BIR audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation, review, and filing of corporate tax returns (VAT, Income, and Withholding Taxes) and government remittances.
• Prepare for external tax audits, reconcile financial statements, and maintain audit-ready records.
• Assess tax implications of key business activities, monitor changes in regulations to support tax efficiency, and coordinate with external advisors on complex matters.
• Collaborate with internal accounting teams to improve financial reporting and address ad-hoc tax requirements.

About the Role:

HOPE is looking for a detail-oriented Tax Supervisor to oversee corporate tax governance and regulatory compliance. You will manage end-to-end tax processes, address financial risks, and ensure compliance with Philippine statutory requirements across our social enterprise programs. The role combines hands-on tax management with strategic financial advisory, offering an ambitious finance professional the opportunity to take ownership of compliance operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tax Compliance & Regulatory Submissions: Oversee the preparation, review, and filing of corporate tax returns, including VAT, Income, and Withholding Taxes, along with required government remittances to the BIR and relevant local authorities.
2. Audit Preparation & Financial Records: Manage preparations for external tax audits, compile supporting schedules, reconcile financial statements, and maintain centralized records that are complete and audit-ready.
3. Tax Advisory & Risk Management: Assess the tax implications of key business activities, monitor changes in BIR regulations to support tax efficiency, and coordinate with external advisors on specialized tax matters or transfer pricing requirements.
4. Coordination with Finance Teams: Collaborate with internal accounting teams to improve financial reporting processes and address ad-hoc tax requirements assigned by leadership.

Requirements & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy (BSA) or a related Finance discipline. CPA credential preferred.
• Technical Experience: Proven experience overseeing corporate tax compliance cycles and handling BIR audits. Strong knowledge of Philippine tax codes and proficiency in eBIRForms and EFPS platforms.
• Core Skills: Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, excellent organizational skills, independent ownership of projects, and effective stakeholder management.
