SCAN - BILT PTE LTD is seeking a competent Quantity Surveyor to support the Contracts Department with commercial measurement, SOR review, cost assessment, quotations and variation evaluation on ongoing projects. You will prepare cost breakdowns, monitor costs against budgets, review supplier quotations, and assist in final accounts and progress claims.

About the role
The Quantity Surveyor supports the Contracts Department in commercial measurement, Schedule of Rates (SOR) review, cost assessment, quotation and variation evaluation, claims preparation and project cost monitoring.
Key responsibilities
Review assigned EMS SOR sections against the scope of work, drawings, specifications and available supporting documents
Prepare quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings, site records and other project information
Check item descriptions, units, quantities and rates for consistency and reasonableness
Identify missing, duplicated, unclear or inconsistent items and maintain an SOR clarification and query register
Prepare marked-up SOR documents and concise summaries of commercial observations for the Commercial Manager's review
Prepare cost breakdowns, rate analyses and commercial comparison tables when assigned
Review labour, material, equipment, subcontractor and supplier cost inputs for completeness and supporting evidence
Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations commercially and highlight exclusions, qualifications and cost risks
Assist in preparing progress claims, variation claims, remeasurement and final-account supporting documents
Assist in monitoring committed, incurred and forecast project costs against budgets, SOR rates and approved variations
Job Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 2 years of relevant QS experience.
Experience in quantity take-off, cost planning, cost estimation, tendering, and contract administration.
Familiar with progress claims, variation orders, project costing, and final accounts.
Able to monitor project costs and evaluate subcontractors' work for payment and final account purposes.
Meticulous, independent, and able to meet project deadlines.
Good communication skills and a team player.
