Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 1–2 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Estimator in construction/mechanical field.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems: HVAC, plumbing, and MEP.
• Proficiency in Excel and costing software; BIM exposure is a plus.

About the role

Airmix Enterprise Construction Incorporated is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor (Mechanical Engineer) to join our estimating team. This is a full-time position based in Commonwealth, Quezon City, Metro Manila. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, conducting detailed quantity takeoffs, and providing valuable cost management support for our mechanical engineering projects. Your expertise will be integral to ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and precision.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and bills of quantities for mechanical engineering projects


2. Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs from architectural and mechanical drawings and specifications


3. Analyse project documentation and specifications to identify scope, materials, and labour requirements


4. Collaborate with project managers, engineers and contractors to gather accurate project data and clarify technical requirements


5. Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions


6. Prepare tender documents, cost breakdowns and project budgets for client presentations


7. Maintain accurate records of estimates, quotations and cost data for future reference and benchmarking


8. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and validate cost assumptions


9. Support the commercial team in contract negotiations and change order management


10. Provide cost consulting advice to internal stakeholders and clients on project viability and cost-saving opportunities

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering


2. Minimum 1-2 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Cost Estimator, or similar role in the construction or mechanical engineering sector


3. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) installations


4. Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel,Plainswift


5. Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools and cost estimation software is highly desirable


6. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with meticulous attention to detail


7. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams


8. Knowledge of Philippine building codes, standards and construction regulations


9. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
