Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Philippines construction standards and procurement practices.

About the role

Finca Engineering Services is seeking a skilled MEPF Quantity Surveyor to join our estimating team. This is a full-time position based in Cainta, Rizal. As an MEPF Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase of projects, providing accurate cost estimates and financial planning for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems. This position is essential to our project success, ensuring that clients receive competitive pricing whilst maintaining profitability and project viability. Your expertise will directly influence project feasibility, budgeting decisions, and overall business growth within the construction sector.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety (MEPF) systems from architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
2. Analyse project documentation, including bills of quantities, specifications, and technical schedules to determine material and labour requirements
3. Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project conditions, scope complexities, and any factors affecting estimating accuracy
4. Collaborate with design teams, project managers, and subcontractors to clarify technical details and gather necessary information for accurate estimates
5. Apply current market knowledge and supplier pricing to ensure competitive and realistic cost estimates
6. Prepare tender documentation and bid submissions with comprehensive cost breakdowns and supporting schedules
7. Review and reconcile estimated costs against actual project performance to identify variances and improve future estimating accuracy
8. Maintain organised cost databases, supplier quotations, and historical project data for reference and benchmarking
9. Communicate estimate summaries and recommendations clearly to senior management and clients

What we’re looking for

1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
2. Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience as a quantity surveyor, with specific exposure to MEPF systems estimation
3. Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety drawings and specifications
4. Competence with quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and AutoCAD
5. Solid understanding of MEPF systems, components, and installation methodologies commonly used in construction projects
6. Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail in performing complex calculations and cost analyses
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
8. Knowledge of current construction industry standards, market rates, and procurement practices in the Philippines
9. Certification from the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) or Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) is advantageous
