Job summary

Secure Equipment Corporation in the Philippines is seeking a skilled Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to prepare detailed quantity take-offs from drawings, develop BOQs, and generate cost estimates for construction and fabrication projects.

You'll estimate structural steel components, materials, labor, and transportation costs, review drawings for discrepancies, and coordinate with Procurement and Engineering to ensure accurate budgets and tender submissions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity and material take-offs from construction and fabrication drawings.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), material schedules, cutting lists, and cost estimates.
• Estimate structural steel including beams, columns, channels, angles, hollow sections, plates, base plates, stiffeners, bolts, and other components.
• Calculate steel requirements by weight, length, area, and quantity.
• Estimate material, fabrication, welding, painting/coating, transportation, equipment, labour, and erection costs.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify discrepancies, missing information, and potential cost implications.
• Prepare supplier and subcontractor RFQs and quotation comparisons.
• Coordinate material requirements with Procurement, Engineering, Fabrication, and Project/Site teams.
• Maintain updated material prices, labour rates, supplier quotations, and estimating records.
• Prepare project budgets, unit rates, tender estimates, and detailed cost breakdowns.
• Evaluate drawing revisions and determine their impact on quantities and project costs.
• Prepare estimates for variations, change orders, and additional works.
• Monitor estimated versus actual material consumption and project costs.
• Assist in value engineering and cost-saving proposals while maintaining technical and quality requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of BOQs, estimates, quotations, revisions, and supporting documents.
