Job summary

Fabtech Export Industries, Inc. seeks a Quantity Surveyor/Cost Estimator to prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and BOQs for the NSCR Steel Walkway project. You will monitor quantities, costs, and variations while supporting procurement and project execution.

The role requires a Civil/QS degree and at least 3 years in construction or steel projects, proficiency in Bluebeam/PlanSwift, Excel, and strong cost control capabilities. On-site work and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction, structural steel, or infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in Bluebeam Revu and PlanSwift for quantity take-offs and estimation.
• Experience in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), cost estimates, and progress billings.
• Strong knowledge of quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and project cost control.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and coordination skills with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Willing to work on-site when required and render overtime to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take-offs from engineering drawings and project specifications using Bluebeam or PlanSwift.
• Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and material quantity calculations.
• Monitor project quantities, material consumption, and project costs.
• Evaluate variations, change orders, and additional works.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Project teams regarding material requirements and project quantities.
• Prepare progress billings, quantity reports, and cost analyses.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify quantity discrepancies and potential cost impacts.
• Assist in procurement by preparing material take-offs and quantity requirements; Maintain accurate records of quantity calculations, estimates, and project documentation.
• Perform other quantity surveying and cost control duties as assigned.

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor (QS) / Cost Estimator (Steel) is responsible for preparing quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and material quantity calculations for the NSCR Steel Walkway Project. The role ensures accurate project costing, monitors project quantities and budgets, and supports procurement and project execution through timely preparation of estimates, variation orders, and progress measurements.
