Job summary

Maseholdings is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to oversee daily QA in an oil mill, focusing on raw material grading and analysis to optimize oil yield while ensuring food safety compliance and target product grades.

You will conduct lab tests on copra, monitor FFA, moisture, color and odor, prepare QA reports, lead safety initiatives, and train plant personnel to close gaps in production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry or related field.
• At least 2 years of laboratory operations experience, preferably in coconut oil.
• PRC license as Registered Chemist/Technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing of incoming copra and inline processing to ensure safe production.
• Implement quality control across milling stages including storage, extraction, filtration, and dispatch per quality plan.
• Monitor critical oil metrics (FFA, moisture, color, odor, yield) to identify optimization opportunities.
• Generate QA reports tracking oil grade variances and advise corrective actions.
• Report deviations and quality issues to management.
• Lead food safety and quality initiatives at the plant.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve production gaps.
• Provide ongoing QA and food safety training for plant personnel.

Job description

This role oversees daily quality assurance within the oil mill, focusing on raw material grading, and analyze potential loss tooptimize oil yield, ensure food safety compliance, and maintain targeted product grades.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for laboratory testing of incoming raw materials (copra) and inline processing (crushing, extraction, andfiltration) to ensure continuous safe production.
• Execute quality control across all milling stages, including storing, extraction, filtration and dispatch based on quality plan
• Daily monitoring of critical oil metrics such as Free Fatty Acid (FFA) levels, moisture content, color/odor profiles, and oilyield percentages to identify process optimization opportunities
• Generate QA reports tracking variances in oil grades and copra cake quality, recommending corrective actions for extraction deviationactions
• Ensure any deviation or issues in quality should be reported to management
• Excellent communication skills and both oral and written
• Lead and manage all food safety and quality initiatives within the plant
• Conducts regular inspections to identify and resolve work gaps in the production process.
• Conducts regular quality and food safety training for all plant personnel

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 2 years of laboratory operations experience (experience in coconut oil, VCO, or the coconut industry is highly preferred).
• License: Registered Chemist or Registered Chemical Technician (PRC License) is preferred.
