Job summary

DAVAO BAY COCONUT OIL MILLS, INC. is seeking a Chemist and Quality Control Supervisor to certify laboratory analyses, propose process improvements, and assist in calibrating instruments. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain instruments and equipment.

The role requires a BS in Chemistry with at least 2 years of related experience, and proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word). The position offers weekends off, overtime pay, 13th month pay, bonuses, rice allowance,

Qualifications

• BS Chemistry degree required.
• Minimum of 2 years related work experience.
• Basic knowledge on laboratory procedures and chemical handling.
• Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
• Detail oriented and analytical.

Responsibilities

• Certify chemical laboratory analysis as licensed chemist.
• Prepare recommendations to improve laboratory processes and procedures.
• Assist in the calibration of chemical instruments and equipment.
• Involve in maintenance of laboratory instruments (third party repairs or manufacturer warranty).
• Prepare daily production report (DPR) for refinery and pouch section.
• Conduct analysis of received commodity (Palm Olein and PFAD) and withdrawals or load outs.
• Conduct sample testing of Palm oil for FFA, color and peroxide value.
• Conduct hourly monitoring of FFA, Color, Iodine Value, Peroxide Value and other parameters for Palm Olein and PFAD samples.
• Conduct water sample analysis daily to ensure standards are met.
• Issue Certificate of Analysis as per customer request.

About the role

You will be involved in the maintenance of laboratory instruments through repairs by third parties or manufacturer's warranty, and provide support in complying with Government regulatory requirements.
