QS Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all costs relating to our building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. Your goal will be to minimize project expenses and maximize value for money while maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Detailed Cost Estimation: Prepare material take-offs, bill of quantities (BOQ), and highly detailed Unit Price Analyses (DUPA) for structural, architectural, earthworks, and MEPFS trades.

• Tendering & Bidding: Evaluate tender documents, prepare competitive bid proposals, and establish realistic project cost budgets.

• Cost Monitoring: Track project expenditures against budgeted estimates, evaluate change orders, and review monthly progress billings from subcontractors.

• Sourcing & Negotiation: Canvass material prices from suppliers, apply appropriate wastage factors (such as concrete, rebar, and finishing waste), and negotiate favorable terms.

• Site Verification: Conduct periodic site visits to verify actual physical progress against billing claims.

Qualification

• Education: Must be Licensed Civil Engineer with solid hands-on experience

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Advanced Microsoft Excel (can build and manage formulas, link sheets, and handle complex DUPA matrices).

  • Competent in AutoCAD, MS Project, PlanSwift or Bluebeam (for conducting quick digital take-offs).

• Experience: Minimum of [e.g., 3 years] of proven working experience as a QS or Estimator in residential, commercial, or fit-out construction projects.

• Core Competencies: Strong analytical skills, sharp attention to numerical details, excellent negotiation skills, and a solid understanding of current market rates for local construction materials in the Philippines.
