Job summary

Hypro Construction and Development Corp. in the Philippines is seeking a licensed Civil Engineer to serve as QS Engineer. You will manage cost control, procurement, and contract administration across high-rise and development projects from inception to close-out.

The role requires at least 2 years of QS experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, PlanSwift or Bluebeam, and MS Office. You will conduct quantity take-offs, prepare BOQs, evaluate bids, and certify payments on site in Tanay, Rizal.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare initial cost estimates and assist feasibility studies.
• Perform quantity take-offs and prepare BOQs for all trades and contingencies.
• Manage procurement lifecycle: tender packages, bid evaluation, and contract terms.
• Collaborate with architects/engineers to identify cost-effective design options.
• Conduct site visits to value work and certify payments.
• Evaluate and negotiate Variation Orders within contingency funds.
• Submit monthly cost-value reconciliations and cost reports to Project Director.
• Ensure adherence to contracts and document to prevent disputes.
• Negotiate and settle final accounts with contractors/subcontractors.
• Assist in compilation of close-out documents (as-built plans, warranties).

About the role

The QS Engineer is responsible for the financial and contractual health of construction projects from inception to close-out. The primary goal is to ensure the project is delivered within the approved budget while maintaining the developer's quality standards and mitigating commercial risks.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare initial cost estimates and assist in feasibility studies to vet proposed projects

• Perform detailed quantity take-offs, unit price analyses, and prepare the Bill of Quantities for all trades, preliminaries and contingencies

• Manage the procurement lifecycle, including preparing tender packages, evaluating contractor bids, and negotiating favorable contract terms

• Collaborate with architects and engineers to identify cost-effective design alternatives that do not compromise structural and engineering integrity or standards

• Conduct regular site visits to measure and value work completed by contractors/subcontractors for payment certifications

• Evaluate and negotiate Variation Orders, ensuring that design changes are accurately costed and remain within the project's contingency funds

• Submit monthly cost-value reconciliations and internal cost reports to Project Director to keep stakeholders informed of the project's financial trajectory

• Ensure all parties adhere to contractual terms, managing notifications and avoiding potential disputes through proactive documentation

• Negotiate and settle final accounts with contractors/subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring all work is accounted for and all claims are resolved

• Assist in compilation and recording of project close-out documents, as-built plans, testing and commissioning reports, warranties, and other pertinent documents

About you

• Must be a licensed Civil Engineer
• Must have at least 2 years of prior working experience as QS Engineer in the construction industry or real estate development industry
• Must be experienced in QS of high-rise projects and horizontal development projects
• Proficient in AutoCAD, PlanSwift or Bluebeam
• Proficient in MS Office software
• Willing to be assigned in Tanay, Rizal
