Job summary

East-West Seed in the Philippines seeks a QC Seed Health Supervisor to oversee seed health testing in the laboratory, ensuring timely, ISO and ISTA-compliant results.

You will lead testing protocols, supervise the seed health section, and coordinate with the QC Lab Manager to drive continuous improvement and dependable quality. Bachelor in Agriculture plus 3–5 years in seed health testing are required, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure on-time availability of quality results in the system.
• Coordinate with customer coordinator on batches with complaints.
• Foster a safe, secure and trusting environment in Seed Health laboratory.

Job description

The QC Seed Health Supervisor is responsible for supervising laboratory seed testing measures to ensure that results are available in a timely manner, in compliance with Company, ISO, and ISTA standards

Responsibilities:

• Initiate preparation and creation of a strategic plan for handled processes in accordance with the department's objectives.
• Supervise and execute plan objectives for the seed laboratory for each year in coordination with the QC Lab Manager.
• Ensure execution of testing and other activities in accordance with ISTA, ISO, and Company standards.
• Supervise strict implementation of seed health testing.
• Protocol development for routine SH testing in collaboration with Plant Health and Wet Seed Disinfection in collaboration with SPR and CSP.
• Ensure on-time availability of quality results in the system
• Ensure batches tested has corresponding quality status in the system
• Ensure coordination with customer coordinator on batches with complaint
• Enhance quality awareness among internal and external customers.
• Foster a safe, secure and trusting environment in Seed Health laboratory in coordination with the QC Lab manager
• Introduce process improvement and innovation to facilitate seed testing.
• Initiate additional procedures, if there is improvement needed to improve seed quality.
• Regularly prepare section updates/reports for the department and/ whenever needed.

Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience , Skills)

• At least graduate of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, major in Pathology, and/or related science course
• Three to five years working experience in seed health testing, microbial and molecular testing, using different laboratory techniques/ equipment for testing and/ or any relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in horticulture, seed science, computer applications, communication, analysis, planning, and interpersonal relations.
• Must be result-oriented, accurate, creative, a team player, and possess strong leadership traits such as the ability to build effective teams and instill trust.
