Job summary

Airytrade Construction & Development Services, OPC requires a QA/QC Engineer – MPF to lead quality control activities on MPF works at project sites. You will review drawings, submittals, and method statements; monitor installations; and coordinate with engineers, foremen, and clients to ensure compliance with plans and codes.

The role demands strong inspection skills, document control, and familiarity with ISO-like QA/QC practices.

Qualifications

  • QA/QC experience for construction projects, preferably MPF
  • Familiar with construction drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and inspection procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant Philippine construction standards and international codes is an advantage
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering plans, shop drawings, and technical specifications
  • Knowledgeable in preparing QA/QC reports and documentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and quality control activities for Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MPF) works.
  • Review approved drawings, specifications, method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings before implementation.
  • Ensure MPF installations comply with approved plans, project specifications, and applicable standards and codes.
  • Perform site inspections and monitor ongoing works to identify quality issues, defects, and non-conformities.
  • Prepare and issue Inspection Requests (IR), Request for Inspection (RFI), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and other QA/QC documentation.
  • Verify delivered materials and equipment against approved material submittals, specifications, and purchase orders.
  • Monitor installation of piping, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, fire protection systems, equipment, and related MPF works.
  • Witness and document testing and commissioning activities (pressure tests, hydrostatic tests, flushing, leak testing, functional testing).
  • Ensure corrective actions for non-conformities are implemented and closed.
  • Coordinate with Project Engineer, Site Engineers, Foremen, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives on quality issues.
  • Maintain QA/QC records, inspection checklists, test reports, and material inspection reports.
  • Monitor implementation of Method Statements, ITPs, and Quality Control Procedures.
  • Assist in preparing as-built drawings, testing and commissioning records, punch lists, turnover documentation.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure workmanship and installation quality.
  • Participate in project quality meetings and technical issue discussions.
  • Ensure documentation and traceability of inspections, tests, materials, and corrective actions.
  • Perform other quality-related duties as assigned by the Project Manager or supervisor

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering field.

  • Preferably a Licensed Engineer.

  • With experience in QA/QC for construction projects, preferably with MPF works.

  • Knowledgeable in Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.

  • Familiar with construction drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and inspection procedures.

  • Knowledge of applicable Philippine construction standards and relevant international codes is an advantage.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering plans, shop drawings, and technical specifications.

  • Knowledgeable in preparing QA/QC reports and documentation.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards.

  • Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

  • Willing to work on a construction project site.
