Job summary

Stockcare Cargo and Warehousing Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Associate to join our procurement team in Quezon City, Metro Manila. This full-time role supports our warehouse and logistics operations by ensuring timely, cost-effective purchasing of goods and services.

You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to optimize inventory and supplier performance. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in purchasing or procurement, strong negotiation skills, and familiarity with ERP systems

Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking a Purchasing Associate to join our procurement team at Stockcare Cargo and Warehousing Inc. This is a full-time position based in Quezon City, Metro Manila. As a Purchasing Associate, you will play a vital role in managing our procurement operations, ensuring the timely acquisition of quality goods and services at competitive prices. You will work closely with suppliers, internal departments, and management to support our warehouse and logistics operations. This position is essential to maintaining efficient inventory levels and supporting the overall success of our organisation.

What you'll be doing

1. Sourcing and identifying potential suppliers and vendors that meet our quality and cost requirements
2. Preparing, issuing, and managing purchase orders and requisitions in accordance with company policies and procedures
3. Negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value for the company
4. Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with warehouse staff to identify purchasing needs
5. Maintaining accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documentation
6. Tracking and expediting orders to ensure timely delivery and minimise supply chain disruptions
7. Conducting quality inspections of received goods and addressing any discrepancies with suppliers
8. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand departmental requirements and procurement timelines
9. Maintaining supplier databases and updating vendor performance metrics
10. Supporting cost reduction initiatives and contributing to process improvements in procurement operations

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role within manufacturing, logistics, or warehousing environments
2. Strong knowledge of procurement processes, purchasing systems, and supply chain management principles
3. Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills with the ability to build and maintain positive supplier relationships
4. Proficiency in inventory management systems and procurement software; experience with ERP systems is advantageous
5. Exceptional attention to detail with strong organisational and time management abilities
6. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to procurement decisions
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is beneficial
8. Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively within a team environment
9. A minimum of 1 year of relevant purchasing or procurement experience
10. Certification in procurement or supply chain management (such as APICS or IIBA) is preferred but not essential
11. Familiarity with logistics and warehousing operations is highly desirable
