Job Description
The Purchasing Admin supports the procurement team by handling purchase documentation, supplier coordination, and inventory monitoring for construction materials and services. This role ensures that materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects are ordered, tracked, and delivered on time while maintaining accurate purchasing records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) for construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors regarding quotations, delivery schedules, and order confirmations.
- Monitor and track material deliveries to ensure timely arrival at project sites.
- Maintain and update purchasing records, supplier databases, and documentation.
- Assist in sourcing construction materials and suppliers based on project requirements.
- Compare supplier quotations, pricing, and terms to support cost‑effective purchasing decisions.
- Coordinate with project engineers, site supervisors, and warehouse staff regarding material requirements.
- Ensure all purchasing documents are accurate, approved, and properly filed.
- Assist in inventory monitoring and help prevent shortages or over‑ordering of materials.
- Support the procurement team in vendor accreditation and evaluation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–2 years experience in purchasing, procurement, or administrative work in the construction industry.
- Familiarity with construction materials, equipment, and supplier coordination.
- Knowledge of procurement processes, purchase orders, and supplier negotiations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); experience with procurement or ERP systems is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced construction environment.
- Detail‑oriented and able to maintain accurate purchasing records.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with construction contractors or developers.
- Knowledge of construction supply chains and vendor management.
- Experience with inventory or material tracking systems.
