Job summary

SearchApi is seeking an engineer to build proxy infrastructure from scratch, including IP rotation, session management, and intelligent routing. You will own architecture decisions and implement a scalable system for residential, mobile, datacenter, and ISP proxies.

You will work remotely in a fast-growing, bootstrapped environment with a focus on low latency, high throughput, and robust monitoring. Fluency in English and strong self-direction are essential.

Qualifications

• Deep networking knowledge: TCP/UDP, sockets, routing, and performance implications.
• Protocol expertise: HTTP/HTTPS, SOCKS5, and related transport behaviors.
• Can write a reverse proxy from scratch, not just configure existing tools.
• Experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems and debugging at packet level.

Responsibilities

• Build proxy infrastructure from scratch; core systems, not glue code.
• Design and implement IP rotation, session management, and intelligent routing.
• Manage IP reputation, health metrics, and pool quality across networks.
• Develop bandwidth reporting and metering for usage visibility.
• Write high-performance reverse proxy software tuned to use case.
• Support multiple proxy types: residential, mobile, datacenter, ISP.
