Job summary

Sur is seeking a Staff Software Engineer who will shape a high-traffic, multi-tenant web platform at the edge. You will architect scalable systems, lead technical design, and drive delivery with a small elite team.

You will optimize how web traffic is intercepted, processed, and delivered at scale across an edge computing platform. You will collaborate with the CTO and platform leads, mentoring engineers and shaping long-term platform evolution while embracing AI-assisted coding and modern

Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering experience on high-traffic, multi-tenant web platforms.
Expert-level proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Python.
Experience designing and operating distributed, high-availability systems at scale.
Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, Azure) and CDN infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and scale core platform infrastructure handling high-volume web traffic at the CDN and edge computing layer.
Lead architecture design and technical planning, authoring design documents with a long-term view.
Plan gradual rollouts with defined audiences, KPIs, and success metrics.
Debug complex frontend behavior caused by backend changes across browsers and devices.
Collaborate with data engineering to ensure testability and observability at scale.
Mentor engineers and act as a technical escalation point for platform challenges.
Stay updated on web performance, edge computing patterns, and browser optimizations.
Embrace AI coding tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
