Qualifications

1+ year of accounting experience
Bank reconciliations, financial statements, journal entries, and basic accounting processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Windows
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work accurately under pressure
Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, organization, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

Prepare and complete monthly financial statements for up to 30+ properties by established deadlines.
Reconcile multiple monthly bank statements and investigate discrepancies.
Analyze monthly financial statements and prepare financial summaries.
Monitor bank balances and identify funding requirements or potential account issues.
Process investment requests and bank transfers.
Prepare and post journal entries as needed.
Create and maintain budget templates for assigned properties.
Update annual, mid-year, and phased budgets as required.
Maintain organized electronic files and accounting records for assigned properties.
Follow established accounting procedures and internal processes.
Provide accounting support to the Property Management Team.
Coordinate with third-party vendors to resolve accounting-related issues.
Respond to emails and phone calls within service-level expectations.
Attend required meetings and training sessions.
Complete special projects and other accounting tasks as assigned.
Manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Property AccountantPosition Overview

The Property Accountant is responsible for managing the accounting activities of assigned properties, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and transaction processing. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple properties simultaneously, and effective communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and complete monthly financial statements for up to 30+ assigned properties by established deadlines.
Reconcile multiple monthly bank statements and investigate discrepancies.
Analyze monthly financial statements and prepare financial summaries.

Must-Have Requirements

1+ year of accounting experience, preferably with experience handling multiple accounts, properties, or clients.
Strong experience with bank reconciliations, financial statements, journal entries, and basic accounting processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Windows, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work accurately under pressure.
Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

Previous experience as a Property Accountant or in property/community association accounting.
Experience using Vantaca or other property management accounting software.
Knowledge or experience in the HOA/community association industry.
Experience with budget preparation, financial analysis, and property-level financial reporting.
Experience using Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or similar collaboration and communication platforms.
