Qualifications

About the role

As Project Supervisor (Solar), you will oversee and manage copper-based infrastructure projects within electrical and electronic engineering operations. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with established standards and timelines. This role is fundamental to maintaining the quality and integrity of copper network installations and upgrades.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily site activities for copper infrastructure projects, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards
• Monitor project progress, timelines, and budgets to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within allocated resources
• Manage and mentor a team of technicians and engineers, providing clear direction, training, and support to maximize productivity
• Conduct regular inspections of copper installations, cabling, and related infrastructure to verify compliance with technical specifications and industry regulations
• Identify potential risks and implement corrective actions to prevent delays, cost overruns, and safety incidents
• Maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, material inventories, and equipment logs
• Coordinate with other departments, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and communication
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on all project sites
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to copper installations and provide solutions to optimise performance
• Conduct training sessions for team members on new procedures, equipment, and safety protocols

About you

• Proven experience (3-5+ years) in electrical or electronic engineering project supervision, with specific experience in copper infrastructure or telecommunications cabling
• Strong knowledge of Solar standards, installation techniques, and industry best practices
• Demonstrated expertise in project management, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
• Excellent supervisory and team leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop technical staff
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications
• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to make sound decisions under pressure
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to electrical and infrastructure projects
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Familiarity with project management software and tools
• A diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field is preferred
