PIC/Fit-out Engineer Duties and Responsibilities

Qualifications
- Qualification: BE (Civil)
- Experience: 5 – 8 years
- Industry Specifications: Real Estate, Construction, Fit-out
- Essential Requirement: License Engr. or relevant Education
- Etiquettes and people management skills: Must
- Knowledge of Project Management and Engineering Tools: (Gant Chart, Process Flow, CAD and other relevant applications)
- Ability to solve problems, take initiative and plan the tasks with precise knowledge in risk management.
- Flexibility with time to work extra hours when the project requires
- Ability to work in a team with high people engagement orientation
General Responsibilities
- Fit-out revolves around inspection, organization, leading, overseeing, and carrying out the building construction project based on the Scope of Activities (WBS), Specification and Timeline.
- To ensure accountability regardless of what is the size of the project undertaken by the interior-fit-out-
- It is the duty of a fit-out engineer to compile the project based on local codes and laws.
- Their goal is to ensure the compilation of the project, organizing activities, and managing staff.
Specific Duties and Roles
Project Planning and Project Management
- Fit-out engineer should follow is to carry out project planning. Should master the schedule according to projected cost, tasks, and time allocation.
- Can program the execution details and essential project development.
- Can program and monitor purchase and determining the important equipment and materials for construction.
- Can recognize probable changes and development of solutions for risk reduction.
- Complying with all regulatory and legal requirements.
- Can creating a communication channel that benefit all project stakeholders
Continuation of Project Funding
- Ensure the project continues. To forecast and be an early bird while purchasing supplies.
- Can oversee construction machinery, whether rented or purchased.Knowledge to interview and search for subcontractors to carry out work specifically.
- To support interim payments and the production of progress reports. The technical proficiency and the correct size of the crew need to be overseen by a fit-out engineer on behalf of a fit-out company. This way the company can manage payroll and payments of their personnel and subcontractors.
Construction and Site Coordination
- Ensure the timely completion of the project for ongoing on-site construction activities.
- Managing effective resource utilization keeping in mind cost and time parameters.
- Responsible for is implementing quantity surveying services. These include inspection of field sites for evaluating and observing operations and conditions of structures and facilities.
- Implement and execute the design quality manuals/plans, stringent systems, and detailed designs.
Project Tracking
- Looking after and tracking the project according to contractual specifications and timelines. Besides regularly monitoring the situation,
- Ensure the execution of tasks according to contract specifications and timelines.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure that they will use the latest construction techniques in a budgeted amount.
- Make advanced purchases and ensure a constant flow of resources. –
- Responsible for monitoring safety on the construction sites.
- Can handle alterations and monitor the progress of construction. For this purpose, they have to ensure budget, project scope, and timeframe, during the decision-making process.
Communication with Stakeholders and Clients
- Can stablish communication with stakeholders and clients a crucial aspect for a fit-out engineer.
- Detailed knowledge on reporting of progress status of the project and also attend client meetings.
- Proactive in managing relationships with regulatory authorities, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Fit-out engineers should also deal with the supervisory staff of the clients and report any unanticipated problems or any crises.
Regulatory and Legal Issues
- Can regulatory and legal matters that fit-out companies are responsible for. Prior to starting the project, they need to get permissions and required licenses and pay the costs associated with it.
- Aware and can follow building codes and local laws that define the entire process of construction.
Safety and Health Issues
- Has a capacity to address the concerns regarding safety and health issues within the building site. Hence, for the knowledge of the employees, the necessary processes need to be improved.
