WHAT YOU’LL DO
Project Evaluation & Planning
  • Review project documents, building plans, and scope-of-work requirements

  • Conduct site visits to understand project conditions and requirements

  • Prepare tender review forms, detailed SOWs, and project research

  • Research project requirements and provide indicative budget values

  • Develop and manage detailed material lists and costings

  • Obtain, assess, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations

  • Analyse project costs and market pricing

  • Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and keep projects within budget

Proposals & Contracts

  • Prepare detailed proposals covering materials, costs, and timelines

  • Develop bid packages and assist with contract negotiations

  • Review and approve purchase orders where required

Methodology & Scheduling

  • Develop clear project methodologies from planning through delivery

  • Prepare task chronology, staging, and preliminary project programs

  • Ensure proposed methodologies and schedules meet contract requirements

  • Continuously identify ways to improve tender methodologies and project delivery

Risk & Financial Oversight

  • Conduct project risk assessments and identify potential cost variations

  • Track and report project costs

  • Assist with contingency planning and value engineering

  • Complete and evaluate cost-revenue analysis

Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor and provide training to junior estimators

  • Support and lead the team in achieving KPIs

  • Take on greater responsibility as you develop your expertise and professional judgement

Audit & Continuous Improvement

  • Support tasks related to annual client audits

  • Prepare and organise documentation and third‑party audit meeting minutes

  • Contribute innovative ideas to improve the client's Integrated Management System (IMS)

WHAT YOU BRING
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Estimator or Project Engineer

  • Proven experience with Australian construction or infrastructure projects particularly water and sewer projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field — or equivalent industry experience

  • Strong ability to interpret building plans, project documents, SOWs, and tender requirements

  • Solid experience in estimating labour, materials, plant, and equipment

  • Strong commercial, analytical, and cost-management skills

  • Experience developing project methodologies, staging plans, and preliminary schedules
