Job summary

JJWS Builders in Novaliches, Quezon City, Metro Manila is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our construction team. You will oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency while coordinating with architects, contractors, and clients.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and 2–5 years of PM experience in construction, with proficiency in reading drawings and familiarity with Primavera P6 or AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in project engineering or construction PM.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and codes relevant to the Philippines.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with construction management software (Primavera P6, AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee daily construction activities per plans and codes.
• Prepare site reports and identify deviations from schedule or budget.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams for timely deliveries.
• Manage project documentation including drawings, permits, change orders, and QA records.
• Support cost control and budgeting; track expenses and opportunities for savings.
• Ensure health and safety compliance on site and promote safety culture.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to provide status updates.
• Assist in scheduling and planning to optimise timelines and resources.
• Prepare technical reports for handover and project completion.

About the role

JJWS Builders is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our dynamic construction team. This is a full-time position based in Novaliches, Quezon City, Metro Manila. As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring that all work is executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between design and construction, liaising with architects, contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure seamless project delivery. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on some of the region's most significant construction initiatives whilst developing your expertise in project management within the construction industry.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee daily construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and building codes
• Conduct regular site inspections and prepare comprehensive reports on project progress, identifying any deviations from schedule or budget
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services
• Manage project documentation, including drawings, permits, change orders, and quality assurance records
• Support cost control and budget management, tracking expenses and identifying cost‑saving opportunities
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations on site, promoting a strong safety culture amongst all personnel
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to provide updates on project status and address any concerns or requests
• Assist in scheduling and planning activities to optimise project timelines and resource allocation
• Prepare technical reports and documentation as required for project handover and completion
• Support the project management team in troubleshooting technical issues and implementing solutions

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar construction project management role
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes relevant to the Philippines
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings and specifications
• Excellent project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with construction management software (Primavera P6, AutoCAD, or similar tools is advantageous)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in construction
• Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving site issues
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various project sites as required
• Professional certification such as PEE (Professional Engineer in the Philippines) or ongoing pursuit of such certification is preferred
