About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our dynamic team at NEWBIG FOUR J CONSTRUCTION INC. in Las Piñas City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating construction projects from inception through completion. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are executed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency whilst maintaining strict adherence to timelines and budgets. This role is integral to our operational success and directly impacts the delivery of outstanding civil and structural engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction activities and site operations to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and subcontractors to facilitate seamless project execution and resolve any on-site issues
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality assurance checks to verify that work meets design specifications and industry standards
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including daily reports, site records, and as-built drawings
• Monitor project progress and report on schedule adherence and budget performance to project managers and senior staff
• Manage material procurement and ensure timely delivery of resources to support construction activities
• Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental protocols on all project sites
• Investigate and document any defects or non-conformances, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant parties
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns
• Support the planning and scheduling of project phases to optimise workflow and resource allocation

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as a Project Engineer in civil or structural construction projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and engineering standards relevant to the Philippines
• Proficiency in project management software and tools, including Microsoft Office Suite and CAD applications
• Excellent understanding of contract documents, specifications, and technical drawings
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise tasks effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Problem-solving capabilities and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure
• Commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices on construction sites
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or similar professional certification is preferred
• Experience in infrastructure, commercial, or residential construction projects is advantageous
