Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd in the Philippines seeks a Senior Project Controls Scheduler to support the project manager by developing scopes of work for controls tasks and preparing detailed, linked schedules with engineering, procurement and construction inputs.

You will lead schedule development, monitor progress, produce Earned Value and progress reports, and provide robust inputs into budgets and risk analyses, leveraging Primavera P6, MS Project and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (relevant discipline).
• 10+ years in project controls with Power/Energy/Chemicals focus.
• Experience developing and maintaining engineering schedules.
• Leads project meetings and makes presentations.
• Proven skills with Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project manager in developing project scope of work for required Project Controls tasks.
• Study and understand all relevant project documents pertaining to the preparation of schedules.
• Work with all relevant project and discipline personnel to prepare schedules.
• Convert the scope of work document into a logically linked, resourced project schedule.
• Prepare realistic, achievable schedules using logical networks and integrate scheduling with engineering, procurement, and construction.
• Develop progress curves and manpower histograms.
• Monitor progress against project schedule and prepare progress reports.
• Collect expended man-hours and prepare Earned Value reports and analysis.
• Prepare, review, and ensure timely issue of all relevant reports to stakeholders.
• Advise on impacts, contingencies and guide scopes towards earliest finish.
• Provide realistic resource forecast data at project and corporate level.
• Provide input into the budget forecasting process.
• Train and guide planning engineers, junior and assistant personnel.
• Manage cost discipline to forecast man-hour budgets and assess change impacts.
• Participate in schedule and project risk analysis.
• Analyze progress and advise corrective actions.

• Verbally and in writing advise project management and discipline personnel on impacts, and contingencies and generally guide the scopes towards the earliest possible finish.

• Provide input into the budget forecasting process.
• Train, encourage, and provide guidance to planning engineers, junior and assistant personnel.
• Manage cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests is properly assessed and included in the schedules.
• Participate in schedule and project risk analysis as required.
• Analyze progress and effects on schedule and advise necessary corrective actions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Has a bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, etc).
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience in project controls with a focus on the Power, Energy, and Chemicals engineering industry.
• Experience developing and maintaining engineering schedules.
• Leads project meetings and makes presentations.
• Problem-solving skills, ability to resolve complex situations with appropriate management.
• Requires excellent working knowledge of project management software, specifically Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Excel.
• Must have a proven record and experience leading the project controls effort on assigned projects.
• Must have an understanding of the basic principles of project management.
• Requires an excellent general understanding of Cost Management, Estimating, and Change Control.
• Must have a high degree of computer literacy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with staff at all levels.
