Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of micro-lending processes, laws, and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the unit's day-to-day performance ensuring compliant service delivery.
  • Review, validate, and approve or decline loan applications within authority.
  • Oversee loan disbursement and explain loan documents to clients.
  • Monitor collection performance and guide staff on PAR.
  • Track officer performance against targets and coach where needed.
  • Conduct area/market studies to identify business opportunities and guide client acquisition.
  • Manage system access in the lending platform (EP1Tech) including client enrollment.
  • Oversee unit finance and admin functions: budgeting, cash reports, reconciliations, audits.

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a results-driven Program Supervisor to lead a unit of Program Officers and Finance and Admin Associates in delivering excellent lending operations and services. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full loan cycle, ensuring compliance with company policies, achieving portfolio targets, and developing your team to reach their full potential. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced micro-finance or lending professional ready to take on a leadership role with strong exposure to operations, finance, and people management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day performance of the unit, ensuring efficient delivery of services and compliance with company policies on marketing, loan approval/release, collection, collateral management, CBU, and microinsurance
  • Review, validate, and approve (or decline, within approval authority) loan applications based on business viability and client payment capacity
  • Oversee the entire loan disbursement process, including explaining loan documents (Promissory Note, Disclosure Statement, Amortization Schedule, collateral documents, microinsurance forms) to clients
  • Monitor collection performance, review weekly workplans, and guide Program Officers in addressing past due accounts and portfolio-at-risk (PAR)
  • Track and analyze individual Program Officer performance against targets, providing coaching and support where needed
  • Conduct area and market studies to identify business opportunities and guide Program Officers in client acquisition strategies
  • Manage system access and approvals in the company's computerized lending platform (EP1Tech), including client registration and loan entries
  • Oversee unit-level finance and admin functions: budgeting, cash position reports, bank reconciliations, liquidation/reimbursement requests, and audit support
  • Ensure proper records management of business permits, contracts, and collateral documents
  • Support HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluation, staff recognition, attendance review, and handling of staff conduct concerns
  • Address and resolve client complaints or concerns regarding company services and staff
  • Build and maintain a positive, values-driven team culture within the unit
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience with 2 years in supervisory role in marketing of financial products/services, micro-financing, or loan processing and documentation
  • Working knowledge of micro-lending processes, laws, and regulations
  • Excellent customer relations and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Willing to conduct fieldwork, client visits, and area market assessments
