Job summary

Eighty-Eight Floor Gifts, Inc. is seeking a Production Planner to develop and maintain production plans, monitor outputs, and coordinate with materials and NPD to meet shipment dates. The role requires strong Excel skills, analytical thinking, and teamwork to optimize capacity and efficiency.

The candidate will participate in daily shop floor meetings, update weekly and monthly plans, and ensure timely communication with sales and production teams to adjust schedules as needed.

PRODUCTION PLANNER

• Create/update planning file for production planning assessment (data includes item-processes, processing time/total time to produce per process, work in process details, order quantity received per ship date).
• Analyze and advise daily target output quantity for the week, OT schedule per process, machine capacity, number of manpower needed to do the job, and number of working shift/days needed to achieve ship date. Provide per process schedule to run for the week.
• Prepare the weekly/monthly production plan and actual report, meeting with the team is set every 2nd day of the week and every 1st week of the month. Create Long-range forecast/3 months assessment (if required). Actual result report shall include actual production performance of the week (Qty, processing time, and Efficiency) and detailed reason of unattained targets.
• Timely updating of assessment for new sales order receive (including samples).
• Monitor daily production actual output including work in process to meet shipment date.
• Attend daily production meeting in shop floor- discussion on daily output and concerns.
• Coordinate production support staff and supervisors to track SO/items status for shipment. Give advice on necessary changes in plan if. Concerns should be address immediately.
• Communicate to material planner the orders for job out (in case inhouse capacity is beyond the order requirement) with details on schedule of delivery to meet inhouse production schedule, any changes in schedule for pull-in should be advise.
• Monitor item with quality issues and include in the production plan/assessment for the weekly plan. If needed, coordinate with QC for urgent items ongoing in production.
• Coordinate with New Product Development, Costing/BOM, and Material Planner Production Team (whichever is applicable) for the production schedule of new product to consider the downtime of schedule during actual process.
• Ensure zero delay in planning to ship committed item quantity per ship date, with production achieving target efficiency as key performance indicator (KPI). Monitor result and help implement an effective corrective and preventive action for unattained result.
• Give timely feedback on status and concerns to sales/PO Receipt & Confirmation staff for timely communication and negotiation to customer for possible necessary changes -such as ship date and quantity issues.
• Coordinate production support staff for job jacket preparation for production use per list of items following the weekly production plan schedule.
• Coordinate NPD/Engineering/Costing for the availability of step-by-step process reference with processing time for new items to update for planning use.
• Share to the material planner the planned date to produce the items to ensure material availability per schedule.
• Coordinate production supervisor to initiate workers cross training schedule especially for manpower with critical skill during lean season.
• Advise item process that needs priority for time and motion study.
• If applicable, suggest finish goods stocking level in reference to historical data and current order trend. Approval of stocking quantity should from the top management.
• Suggest better way of doing things in planning and production set-up if have seen an opportunity to increase efficiency.
• Do other task as maybe assigned by the immediate superior/manager.
