Job summary

Michael Page in Manila is seeking a Product Owner to work with product leadership, translate goals into clear software requirements, and guide development teams.

You will refine features for PI planning, manage the backlog, write user stories and acceptance criteria, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams across regions in a hybrid setup.

The role requires Agile and SAFe expertise and strong English communication for SaaS or enterprise software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product leadership to understand strategic goals, customer requirements, and roadmap priorities, then translate them into clear guidance for development teams.
• Support Program Increment (PI) planning by refining features and user stories, identifying dependencies and risks, aligning priorities, and helping define achievable objectives.
• Manage and prioritize the team backlog to ensure an effective balance between business value, customer needs, technical improvements, defect resolution, and team capacity.
• Develop detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation to provide teams with clear requirements and expected outcomes.
• Promote an outcome-driven approach by helping teams understand how features support customer workflows and broader business objectives.
• Act as the voice of the customer by gathering stakeholder feedback, understanding user needs, and ensuring a high-quality user experience.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as development, quality assurance, architecture, security, and operations to manage dependencies and maintain alignment.
• Validate completed work against defined requirements, participate in demonstrations, collect feedback, and incorporate learnings into future planning activities.
• Communicate priorities, progress, risks, and decisions effectively with stakeholders and distributed teams across different regions and time zones.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing Agile and SAFe processes, planning practices, team collaboration, and delivery effectiveness.

The Successful Applicant

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in product ownership, product management, business analysis, software delivery, or similar roles supporting software development teams.
• Hands-on experience managing backlogs, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, prioritizing work, and supporting iterative software delivery processes.
• Solid understanding of Agile and SAFe methodologies, including PI Planning, objectives, feature management, dependency tracking, risk management, demos, and retrospectives.
• Demonstrated ability to convert business objectives and customer requirements into clear, actionable software requirements while maintaining focus on intended outcomes.
• Strong skills in planning, facilitation, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and decision-making.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication abilities, with experience collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Flexibility to work across different time zones and adjust schedules when necessary to support planning sessions and stakeholder collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving as a Product Owner for SaaS, cloud-based, or enterprise software solutions.
• Previous experience working within a SAFe environment and supporting formal Program Increment planning and execution.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps or other backlog and lifecycle management platforms.
• Knowledge of industrial automation, SCADA systems, IoT, IIoT, telemetry, operational technology, or related industries.
• Experience collaborating with globally distributed product and development teams across multiple regions and time zones.
• Relevant certifications such as SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), or equivalent credentials.
