Job summary

Coherent Corp. in the Philippines is seeking a hands-on Engineer to manage the product lifecycle from development through changes, monitor yield and quality, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead root cause analyses for product issues.

The role collaborates with R&D, Process, Equipment, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain to drive improvements. The position emphasizes manufacturing efficiency, cost reduction, and robust, customer-focused product outcomes within a 100% onsite

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Physics or its equivalents.

• Manage the product lifecycle by supporting product development, NPI, ramp-up, sustaining engineering, and changes.
• Drive product performance by monitoring yield, quality, and manufacturing performance and implement improvements.
• Ensure product compliance by supporting qualification, engineering change management, and compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for product and customer issues (e.g., RMA) to ensure stable production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, increase yields, and implement continuous improvement.

Education & Experience

• Product Knowledge: Strong knowledge of laser devices, product lifecycle management, manufacturing processes, and new product introduction (NPI).
• Data Analysis & Problem Solving: Proficient in statistical analysis, root cause analysis (RCA), FMEA, DOE, and yield improvement methodologies to resolve product and process issues.
• Product Characterization: Experience in product qualification, performance characterization and failure analysis to ensure product quality and compliance.
• Continuous Improvement: Ability to drive yield enhancement, cost reduction, process optimization, and engineering change implementation using Lean manufacturing principles.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Effective in working with R&D, Process, Equipment, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to deliver robust, manufacturable, and customer-focused products.

Working Conditions

• This role is 100% onsite in a cleanroom or office environment.
